The Women’s Resource Center in Bermuda hosted a gala in honor of “Purple Thursday”. Celebrated on the third Thursday of October, the color purple is worn in order to raise awareness and show support for victims of domestic violence. This year’s feature speaker was Tawana Tannock; she retold the horrifying story of Bermuda’s first documented domestic violence case.
“Family Affair” was the theme of this year’s Pride Parade, which was hosted by Pride Bermuda and took place in the City of Hamilton. As a proud ally and second year sponser of Bermuda’s Pride Week, I was excited to capture this event. I would personally describe this event as one of the happiest hosted in Bermuda; all are welcome. The parade itself is (roughly) an hour long walk around the City followed by a party in Victoria Park.
In celebreation of the last day of Pride Week, “Bermuda Pride” & “Out Bermuda” hosted a Drag Queen Brunch at The Loren Resort in Smiths Parish. The sold out event featured two of Bermuda’s top performers: Ms. Sybil Barrington (aka: de Queen of Bermuda) - and Marcus Tizzebra Smith (aka: Marcus Zebra)! During one heartfelt performance, Marcus was also joined by his mom; marching to the music and twirling a baton.
What an awesome group to photograph! The good folks of World Travel Inc. came down to Bermuda on a company holiday trip. Some of the employees had been going on vacation together for over 30 years! How cool is that?!
