Do you need a Special Permit for an event at a Beach or Park?

If you are hosting an large photo production at one of Bermuda’s Beaches, Parks, and/or Nature Reserves - you might need to obtain a Special Permit from the Department of Parks in advance. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Send the Dep’t of Parks an email to ask if you need to aquire Special Permit. In your email, briefly describe the photo shoot (gear, how many people will be present, dates/times, if the shoot is being catered, etc.). Please cc Melanie on your email to: parksdept@gov.bm

  2. If you do need a permit, fill out the Special Parks Permit Form and email it to the Dep’t of Parks. Click “here” to download the PDF form. You may want to include this completed form in your initial email.

  3. Wait 2-3 business days and call the Dep’t of Parks to make sure your email and/or form went through okay. Reference your last names so it’s easier for someone at the office to find your information: 1-441-236-5902

TIP: Aquire the Special Permit well in advance of your photo shoot/production. Communication may be slower than usual for the Dep’t of Parks as they are understaffed.

The Special Parks Permit form notes to allow at least five business days for the form to process, however I would recommend booking no less than two weeks in advance.
