Maternity: Heather & Family - Warwick Long Bay & Southlands, Bermuda
Heather initially e-mailed me this past March to inquire about booking a maternity/family photo shoot while in Bermuda for vacation. It’s always a treat for me to get to know my clients a little bit over e-mail before I actually photograph them. Heather noted that she, her husband, Jeff, and son, Rowan, would be flying to Bermuda from Colorado! After a few back-and-forth messages to discuss location and island transportation, she chose Warwick Long Bay and Southlands’ Estate Park. With the second baby on the way, Heather and Jeff wanted to capture their vacation as a family of three – soon to be a family of four!

During the photo shoot, Heather and Jeff told me they had previously lived in Huntsville, Alabama – where mother’s family is from. Our shared connection to the South sparked a great dialogue between all of us! Perhaps one of the more memorable conversations of the day came from young Rowan, who told me his favorite number was five. While in Southlands’ Estate Park, Rowan carefully selected five flowers for his dad to wear in his shirt pocket. Like most young boys, Rowan also liked picking up sticks! With the second baby on the way, Heather and Jeff wanted to capture their vacation as a family of three – soon to be a family of four!
Wedding: John & Marie - The Reefs, Bermuda
When you think of Bermuda, you may think of the natural colors found on the island: the blue and aqua ocean waters, the pink sand, and the green landscape. Marie and John had beautiful sunny weather on their wedding at The Reefs in Southampton, Bermuda, which allowed for the island's colors to shine even more so! With the shimmering water behind the bride and groom, the two exchanged their vows, the rings, and sealed it with a kiss!
What made this wedding unique was the stunning display of floral decor and bouquets arranged by Flowers by GIMI! The wedding day went smoothly; everything was carefully orchestrated by their wedding planner, Kathleen of Bermuda Event Solutions.

Marie & John have vacationed at The Reefs several times before getting married there. While I was taking their group photos, Marie mentioned to me that they felt like they were at home at The Reefs! After group photos, the couple was joined by their closest family and friends for cocktails on Caso's Point. The signature drink of the evening was affectionately named "Lady's Swizzle", named after Marie and John's loving dog back home and naturally, the national beverage of Bermuda!
While the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, Marie, John, and I snuck off to shoot their bridal portraits around The Reefs' property. After which, everyone gathered for dinner at Coconuts. The reception started off with John toasting his lovely new bride and thanking everyone for joining them in Bermuda.
What made this wedding unique was the stunning display of floral decor and bouquets arranged by Flowers by GIMI! The wedding day went smoothly; everything was carefully orchestrated by their wedding planner, Kathleen of Bermuda Event Solutions. A few days after their wedding, John and Marie were kind enough to send all of the vendors a thank-you note, which was greatly appreciated. Wedding: A & S - Coral Beach Club, Bermuda
I had the pleasure of photographing Alyse Hanrahan and Stevie Moses’ wedding on May 6, 2017, in Bermuda at the Coral Beach Club! What was more amazing was that after spending the day with these two love birds, I also had the chance to get to know them a little bit! Perhaps one of the most romantic things I learned about these two was that they had been dating for 11 years and were high school sweethearts!
I had the pleasure of photographing Alyse Hanrahan and Stevie Moses’ wedding on May 6, 2017, in Bermuda at the Coral Beach Club! What was more amazing was that after spending the day with these two love birds, I also had the chance to get to know them a little bit! Perhaps one of the most romantic things I learned about these two was that they had been dating for 11 years and were high school sweethearts!
After booking me as the wedding photographer, I found out that Alyse was an accomplished make-up artist. After seeing her make-up work on Instagram, I knew the photos from the “getting ready” stage would be awesome! Alyse's older sister - the matron-of-honor and also an amazing makeup artist - did the bride's makeup and hair! The wedding dress itself was a surprise not only for the groom but also for the bridal party and family members! The dress was complemented not only with Alyse's stunningly beautiful engagement ring, but also with crystal bangles and matching earrings. In honor of Alyse's dear friend Chelsea, the bride also wore her friend's ruby red ring.
Stevie is a professional ice hockey player - dubbed one of the fastest skaters on earth by his groomsmen - and is currently playing for the SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia. Stevie has also played in the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League throughout his career, although the décor for the wedding was not centered on "hockey knick-knacks”. Stevie’s mom later told me that he wanted their wedding day to reflect both him and Alyse as a couple, which I found to be quite romantic! Stevie had chosen his father to be the best man and his cousin and friends to be his groomsmen.
Once Alyse & Stevie were dressed and ready to tie the knot, they did so on the Wedding Lawn at the Coral Beach Club! With the white carpet laid out, the bridal party made their way to the front, took their places, and awaited the bride's procession. Escorted down the aisle by her mother, Alyse was a radiant bride; laughing throughout the ceremony. Sealing their vows with a kiss, the couple made their first joyous steps forward as husband and wife!
With the ceremony ending, the couple joined the bridal party and family members for portraits on the lawn. The bouquets were stunningly beautiful and were created by Flowers by GIMI. Everyone was "all smiles" through these photos!
Before joining the cocktail hour, Stevie and Alyse paused for their Bridal Portraits. With the resort being known for its unique architecture, gardens, cedar trees, and putting green, we made our way all around Coral Beach's property.
Despite the windy day, the couple, their family, and friends all enjoyed the cocktail hour on the patio overlooking the South Shore. Stevie and Alyse joined in on several group photos with their guests; all of who had traveled to Bermuda to help them celebrate. Perhaps one of the more funny moments was during a group photograph of Stevie and several of his friends who are also professional hockey players; Alyse jumped right into the mix!
As the guests moved into the reception room, they were greeted by beautiful tables which were decorated with floral centerpieces and a cream-colored wedding cake. After the bride and groom’s first dance, speeches by the matron-of-honor and one of the groomsmen, and an amazing meal, the wedding party danced the night away! The morning of the wedding was very relaxing for both the bride and groom: full of laughter and confetti.... because what's a good wedding without a little confetti? Right? The couple was joined by their dearest friends and family; some of whom were local to Bermuda and others who had flown in from the States!

With Lizzie being an avid surfer and Slayton a fisherman, the turquoise water of Bermuda was the perfect backdrop for their wedding! The couple - standing within a gorgeous floral wreath made by Demco - recited their vows to one another, exchanged rings, and "sealed the deal" with a kiss. Afterward the ceremony on the beach, Lizzie and Slayton's guests moved over to the Frozen Hut at the Club for frozen drinks and horderves. Before the bride and groom joined in on the "cocktail hour" fun, they paused for portraits with their bridal party and family.
The reception "kicked off" with the cutting of the cake; followed by speeches, the couple's first dance, and dinner! Devil's Isles Audio provided the music for the evening and proved to be a smashing hit! Taking Lizzie and Slayton's wedding photographs was a delight for two reasons: a) these two are so obviously in love - I had to stop myself from tearing up behind the lens - and b) and the day's weather was picture-perfect - you could say, it was a "Bermudiful Wedding Day"!

I had a wonderful time working with the Gruska Family at Rosewood Tucker’s Point! This resort is a wonderful place for a photo shoot and is undoubtedly a photographer’s dream! The family traveled down to the tiny island of Bermuda from New Jersey for a little “R and R” with their daughter. We explored the ins and outs of Tucker's: the library, the unique architecture of the resort, the croquet lawn, the spa pool, although their goal for the photo shoot was to make sure their daughter enjoyed the beach! Their daughter had such a fun time at the beach that she passed right out from pure excitement!

Elopement: Anna & William - Tucker's Point, Bermuda
Rosewood Tucker’s Point is one of my favorite resorts to photograph weddings at in Bermuda. The landscape is always pristine, the colors are always vibrant, the staff is always super friendly (especially the gentlemen who work the front door) and it might be my imagination, but I’m fairly sure the sun is always shining there! This day was no different for Anna and William, a.k.a. Butch, who eloped in their hotel suite at Tucker’s Point on February 8, 2017! With the groom’s father, three close friends, and their dearest pup present, Anna and William said their vows to one another, exchanged their rings, and were legally wed on one of the prettiest days of the month!
Rosewood Tucker’s Point is one of my favorite resorts to photograph weddings in Bermuda. The landscape is always pristine, the colors are always vibrant, the staff is always super friendly (especially the gentlemen who work the front door) and it might be my imagination, but I’m fairly sure the sun is always shining there! After the ceremony, we made our way around Tucker's Point to take bridal portraits – while simultaneously walking the dog. Anna and William were visibly on Cloud 9 as they laughed with one another continuously. In between me giving them tips for different poses, they would look at each other, embrace, and seemingly a warm calm would overcome the two of them; a sure sign of true love and friendship!
