I had a wonderful time working with H and her family. Many congrats to the new mom and dad on the arrival of their son!
I had a great time working with M. and her family at “Coral Sea Rental Property”! It’s a stunning location with a beautiful private beach; an ideal spot for weddings and photo shoots!
Who doesn’t love a backyard wedding? Furthermore, who doesn’t love a backyard wedding with a gorgeous water view on Memorial Day Weekend?! I first met Maddy - the founder and owner of Novah Swimwear - and Caleb at a New Years’ Eve Party at The Loren Resort, where Jim and I were working the photo booth. In the Fall of 2020, they reached out about wedding photography! Finally, the day came when Maddy & Caleb said “I do” at her parents’ house in Bermuda. Days after the wedding, the couple hosted an amazing wedding celebration on The Zara.
Who doesn’t love a “homegrown” wedding?
It’s not everyday you get to photograph your childhood friends’ wedding… and it’s certainly not everyday you get to photograph part of the wedding at your own parents’ house. For this reason, this wedding was an emotional one to capture. Kristie and I - along with her brother, Scott - grew up together. I was either down at their house or they were up at ours. We spent Saturday nights and holidays together, swam on the same teams, fished our neighborhood creek together, terrorized the neighborhood on bicycles together, and got into good-ole fashion mischief together.
I had a great time working with Anna and her family! They opted to have their photo shoot occur at their family homestead. Despite the clouds, we had a wonderful time and captured lasting memories.
I had the pleasure of photographing my dear friend Kim and her family at their home in Lake Barcroft, Virginia. Kim and I went to high school together and were also on the swim team together. She, her husband, Jami, and their kids now live in Manhattan. It was such a treat to link up with all of them while they were back in the D.C. area. This lake has always been a special spot for me mainly because I grew up swimming for the Lake Barcroft dolphins; a motor-boatin’ team if ever there was one! At seventeen, I became a lifeguard at Lake Barcroft and worked there for the next five summers. Let me tell you; working at the lake was a pretty sweet summertime gig for a college student! With the number of paths, beaches, swing sets and colorful canoes; the lake has now become a pretty sweet location for family photo shoots!
I had a great time designing and planning the rustic seaside stylized bridal portrait shoot with several wedding vendors in Bermuda. I began chatting about this idea with my friend Lara Smith, who is the owner and wedding videographer behind LDS Multimedia after the 2016 Orchid Spa Bridal Expo at the Fairmont Southampton. After weeks of tossing around a few ideas in my head, I reached out to different vendors that could make it happen: BHLDN , Flowers by GIMI, Studio Wedding Hair Bermuda, Chrysalis Cosmetics, LDS Multimedia, The English Sports Shop, and TABS. Working close together with the florist, hair stylist, make-up artists, seamstress, videographer, and the different brands was a unique experience, which created a sense of bonding throughout our group. The Stylized Bridal Portrait Shoot started out as an idea to capture a specific visual concept but in the end, became much more.
