I was thrilled when M & S reached out to plan their photo session at the iconic Crystal Caves in Bermuda. This breathtaking natural landmark offers a truly unique setting for engagement sessions, couples photography, and destination portraits. If you’re considering a Crystal Caves photo shoot in Bermuda, be sure to contact Crystal Caves directly to arrange a private tour for the best experience.
If you’re dreaming of a sophisticated island celebration, this stunning black-tie wedding at the St. Regis Bermuda Resort is the perfect inspiration. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Bermuda’s turquoise waters and pink-sand beaches, this wedding was the very definition of timeless elegance and modern luxury.
When planning a photo shoot - whether it’s a family portrait session, an elopement, or a large wedding - it’s important to consider the time of day you capture specific images. It’s also a good idea to keep the weather in mind for your session. Both the weather and the nautral light will affect the overall look of your images. While we cannot control the weather, we can adjust the timing of your session in attempts to capture the strongest natural light.
Bermuda is known for it’s “pink” sandy beaches; there’s no denying that. As I’m often on these beaches - capturing my clients’ special memories, I’m asked the following questions:
What makes the sand pink?
Is this the “pink sand”?
Where is the most “pink sand”?
Will the sand look pink during our photo shoot?
To answer the first question, I’d like to quote part of an article from the Bermuda Institute of Oceanic Sciences (BIOS):
Located on the City of Hamilton, this hotel boats a variety of locations that are ideal for photos! From the moongate, to the garden, to the infinity pool, and views of the harbour - this “spot” is perfect for your upcoming event or photo shoot.
I had a great time working with Donna and her daughter during this session. These two were up for an adventure and we got to explore Church Bay Beach, Vesey’s Nature Reserve, and Fort Scaur.
I had wonderful time with T & her family at Leamington Caves during our family photo shoot. If you’re looking for the perfect vacation rental in Bermuda for a large group - this is it! Be sure to check out the active link to learn more about the property.
Winnie & Keyth came all the way from Texas to Bermuda to party and they did exactly that! Joined by their family and friends, Winnie & Keyth “tied the knot” at Cambridge Beaches on the Sky Deck, while their Cocktail Hour and Reception were held on the Shoreline Terrace. Many congrats to one of the loveliest and funniest couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with!
I had a great time working with M. and her family at “Coral Sea Rental Property”! It’s a stunning location with a beautiful private beach; an ideal spot for weddings and photo shoots!
Located on the South Shore of Bermuda, these two beaches are side-by-side! They are an ideal location for a photo shoot or a wedding.
Let’s explore all that St. George’s Parish has to offer during your photo shoot! Below are images from St. George’s Historic Town and Harbour, St. Peter’s Church, the Unfinished Church, Tobacco Bay, St. Catherine’s Fort & Beach, Gates Fort, and Alexandria Battery Fort.
The Commissioner’s House in the Royal Naval Dockyard is an awesome spot for a wedding reception and/or for portraits. Check out a few of our highlights from this location.
K & O flew over to Bermuda from the UK to tie the knot with only their “parents in tow”. K had lived in Bermuda as a young girl and the island has always been a special location for her and her family. After getting ready together at the Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort and Spa - we made our way to the Registrar General’s Office for the ceremony. Smiling from ear to ear, the couple said “we do”. From there, we walked to Queen Elizabeth Par-la-Ville Park and Barr’s Bay Park for photos.
I had a wonderful time working with M & D at Gibb’s Lighthouse and Horseshoe Bay Beach in Bermuda! I look forward to seeing them upon their return as a family of three!
The City of Hamilton is a great spot for a photoshoot! On this “photoshoot” journey - we’ll visit a number of locations… all within walking distance from one another. This city has charming pastel buildings boasting Bermuda’s unique architecture and white roofs. Hamilton also provides stunning water views and palm trees for days!
If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful location for your photoshoot - look no further than Tobacco Bay! This “gem” is tucked into the eastern side of the island. It’s within walking distance to the St. Regis Resort and is a short drive from the Unfinished Church and the historic town of St. George’s. This is a great spot for bridal portraits, maternity shoots, and more!
Who says a cloudy day will ruin a day at the beach? Not this crew; that’s for sure! We had an absolute blast at this photo shoot. One of the things I loved best about this session was the soft natural light created by the clouds.
It’s that time of year again ~ mini session time! Whether you’re planning for your holiday card or just want to schedule a fun photo shoot, this deal is for you! Mini sessions ($275) are 30min long and include 20-25 traditional and candid photos. The edited high-resolution images are delivered within 24 hours via a private online gallery. I had a great time working with Anna and her family! They opted to have their photo shoot occur at their family homestead. Despite the clouds, we had a wonderful time and captured lasting memories.
I had a wonderful time working with Shahrzad and her family at the Pompano Beach Club. If you’re looking for a super cute resort on the west end - this is it!
J & B tied the knot at the Registry General in the City of Hamilton. The goal was simple: get hitched & then go for a swim at Grape Bay Beach!
Chris and Kim flew to Bermuda to celebrate their 10 year anniversary - and - many congrats to them! They booked a photo shoot at Marley Beach and had a time slot that was just before the sunset golden hour. Some clients may opt for an earlier time slot just before or after the golden hour for several reasons. Perhaps there’s a young child who needs to go to sleep early? Or perhaps it’s a last minute booking?
I had a great time working with the “A” family at Spittal Pond! This is the ideal location for a photo shoot because it offers several different types of backdrops. This place has everything from ocean views to cliffs to the forest to a freshwater pond - great for bird watching!
Cheers to the happy couple! Thank you for allowing me to capture this special moment in your lives!
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the Bermuda sky in shades of gold and pink, a romantic surprise unfolded at Grotto Bay Beach Resort. Surrounded by the island’s natural beauty and the gentle sounds of the ocean, this unforgettable sunset proposal was filled with emotion, anticipation, and joy. From the breathtaking waterfront setting to the heartfelt "yes," every detail came together to create a magical moment that the couple will cherish forever. Join us as we relive this stunning Bermuda proposal and the love story that made it so special.
Sunshine for days during this extra special babymoon photo shoot at Horseshoe Bay Beach!
What could be more romantic than saying “I Do” on New Years Day? Shanae and Nevin tied the knot on January 1, 2018 at their church with their bridal party photos taken at Fort Hamilton right in the heart of the City of Hamilton. Their gorgeous reception soon followed at the Hamilton Princess Resort! Many congrats to the newly weds!
A beautiful sunrise proposal at Jobson's Cove with photos also captured at Gibbs Lighthouse in Bermuda.
With the clouds and crashing waves behind them, Doug “popped” the question at Rosewood Bermuda’s Beach Club! Many congrats to them both!
Lesley & Greg got ready at the Hamilton Princess Resort in the City of Hamilton in Bermuda for their special day. With the “weather gods” on our side, the two were wed at sea aboard The Zara; a stunning catamaran built by the Captains themselves! The reception was held at Spanish Point Boat Club.
Many congrats to Anna and Thomas! This was one of my more memorable engagement sessions because we had such a wonderful time working together! I’m looking forward to capturing their wedding at the Fairmont Southampton soon!
I had a wonderful time working with M & T on their wedding day! The couple got ready at the Fairmont Southampton, which was followed by a First Look and Group Photos! Can’t beat the view from the Fairmont; that’s for sure!
Sarah’s expression to Tim’s proposal was priceless at Grape Bay Beach in Bermuda! Many congrats to these two!
I had a great time working with M & B during their Babymoon Photo Shoot at Grotto Bay Resort. We also took pictures at a private beach in Shelly Bay, Bermuda.
Heather initially e-mailed me this past March to inquire about booking a maternity/family photo shoot while in Bermuda for vacation. It’s always a treat for me to get to know my clients a little bit over e-mail before I actually photograph them. Heather noted that she, her husband, Jeff, and son, Rowan, would be flying to Bermuda from Colorado! After a few back-and-forth messages to discuss location and island transportation, she chose Warwick Long Bay and Southlands’ Estate Park. With the second baby on the way, Heather and Jeff wanted to capture their vacation as a family of three – soon to be a family of four!
When you think of Bermuda, you may think of the natural colors found on the island: the blue and aqua ocean waters, the pink sand, and the green landscape. Marie and John had beautiful sunny weather on their wedding at The Reefs in Southampton, Bermuda, which allowed for the island's colors to shine even more so! With the shimmering water behind the bride and groom, the two exchanged their vows, the rings, and sealed it with a kiss!
What made this wedding unique was the stunning display of floral decor and bouquets arranged by Flowers by GIMI! The wedding day went smoothly; everything was carefully orchestrated by their wedding planner, Kathleen of Bermuda Event Solutions.
I had the pleasure of photographing Alyse Hanrahan and Stevie Moses’ wedding on May 6, 2017, in Bermuda at the Coral Beach Club! What was more amazing was that after spending the day with these two love birds, I also had the chance to get to know them a little bit! Perhaps one of the most romantic things I learned about these two was that they had been dating for 11 years and were high school sweethearts!
I had the pleasure of photographing Lizzie and Slayton's Wedding at the Coral Beach Club in Paget, Bermuda. The morning of the wedding was very relaxing for both the bride and groom: full of laughter and confetti.... because what's a good wedding without a little confetti? Right? The couple was joined by their dearest friends and family; some of whom were local to Bermuda and others who had flown in from the States!
Many congratulations to these two who got engaged aboard Happy Cat in the Great Sound, Bermuda!
The weather could not have been more perfect for this engagement shoot with Joseph & Kim at Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve!
I had a wonderful time working with the Gruska Family at Rosewood Tucker’s Point! This resort is a wonderful place for a photo shoot and is undoubtedly a photographer’s dream! The family traveled down to the tiny island of Bermuda from New Jersey for a little “R and R” with their daughter. We explored the ins and outs of Tucker's: the library, the unique architecture of the resort, the croquet lawn, the spa pool, although their goal for the photo shoot was to make sure their daughter enjoyed the beach! Their daughter had such a fun time at the beach that she passed right out from pure excitement!
Rosewood Tucker’s Point is one of my favorite resorts to photograph weddings at in Bermuda. The landscape is always pristine, the colors are always vibrant, the staff is always super friendly (especially the gentlemen who work the front door) and it might be my imagination, but I’m fairly sure the sun is always shining there! This day was no different for Anna and William, a.k.a. Butch, who eloped in their hotel suite at Tucker’s Point on February 8, 2017! With the groom’s father, three close friends, and their dearest pup present, Anna and William said their vows to one another, exchanged their rings, and were legally wed on one of the prettiest days of the month!
These two will soon welcome baby number one! I had a wonderful time taking their photos at both the Fairmont Southampton and the South Shore Beaches in Bermuda!
I had the pleasure of photographing my dear friend Kim and her family at their home in Lake Barcroft, Virginia. Kim and I went to high school together and were also on the swim team together. She, her husband, Jami, and their kids now live in Manhattan. It was such a treat to link up with all of them while they were back in the D.C. area. This lake has always been a special spot for me mainly because I grew up swimming for the Lake Barcroft dolphins; a motor-boatin’ team if ever there was one! At seventeen, I became a lifeguard at Lake Barcroft and worked there for the next five summers. Let me tell you; working at the lake was a pretty sweet summertime gig for a college student! With the number of paths, beaches, swing sets and colorful canoes; the lake has now become a pretty sweet location for family photo shoots!
I had a fantastic time photographing my best friend of thirty plus years – who is also named Melanie – and her daughter, Olivia at The Holmes Run Stream Valley Park in Annandale, Virginia! Melanie and I used to wonder through the creek together when we were girls and it was a treat to take her little one to our old stomping grounds. Melanie has a background in dog training and it was only fitting that she also bring Jackson, their Brazilian Mastiff. The color in the fall leaves was holding on tight… winter is coming!
Some things are just meant to be. Mujib and Sameera for example, this couple was meant to be together and I suppose… I was meant to be their photographer. Mujib and Sameera just had their wedding photographer cancel on them a few months before their wedding. Moments later, Mujib spotted me photographing an event at the Hamilton Princess, where he first introduced himself to me and asked if I was free to shoot his wedding in the fall. After exchanging business cards, his fiancé, Sameera, gave me a call and we “clicked”. She was from Alabama… my mother is from Alabama (Roll Tide)… she was moving to Bermuda from a big city… I had moved to Bermuda from a big city… I was not only excited to photograph Sameera & Mujib’s big day but I was also excited to know there would be another Alabamian on the island! The couple was married at The Registrar's Office in the City of Hamilton, although they exchanged their vows to one another, had their first dance, cut the cake, and partied the afternoon away aboard the infamous Übervida!
I had a great time photographing Walette and Anthony’s wedding “up country”. If you’re from Bermuda, then you know that the saying “up country” refers to those traveling “up to” Somerset and “down country” refers to those traveling “down to” St. George’s. This wedding was pure Somerset and it was spectacular! The two were married at St. Joseph's Church, had their portraits taken at Fort Scaur, and their reception was at Bella Vista Bar & Grill, which is on Port Royal Golf Course in Sandys Parish.
A special thank you to the Bellanca family for inviting me to capture the birth of their son, Marco. It was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience.
This will be Tina’s third child that she will welcome into the world with her husband and two daughters. The first baby boy in the family will be super exciting! Many congrats to them!
I had a wonderful time working with Iva & Dan! Cooper’s Island was the perfect location for their engagement photos. In a few short months - I’ll be photographing their wedding!
Paola and Kyle are engaged - and - won a free engagement session at this year’s Wedding Show at the Fairmont Southampton!
These two lovebirds were hitched in a civil ceremony and the day after, they had their reception at their favorite spot in China Town - NYC!
